Porsche DME Report · Sarasota, FL

Porsche DME over-rev report, usually while you wait.

Selling on Bring a Trailer or Cars & Bids? Bidders will ask for the DME report. We plug in the factory Porsche PIWIS tester, read the over-rev data and fault memory, and hand you a clean branded PDF you can post with your listing. Serving Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Tampa Bay.

What It Is

The engine's own record of how it's been driven.

Every modern Porsche engine computer (the DME) keeps a log of over-rev events, sorted into six ranges by rpm. Ranges 1 and 2 are the rev limiter doing its job, which is normal. Ranges 3 and up usually mean a missed downshift spun the engine past redline. That's why serious buyers want to see it before they bid. A clean report, posted up front, answers the question before it's asked.

FAQ

DME report questions, answered.

Why do Bring a Trailer and Cars & Bids bidders ask for a DME report?
On modern Porsches the engine computer (DME) logs every time the engine was over-revved. A clean report is the easiest way to show bidders the engine hasn't been abused, and a seller who posts one up front usually gets fewer questions and more confidence in the comments.
What do the over-rev ranges mean?
The DME sorts over-rev events into ranges 1 through 6, from lowest to highest rpm. Ranges 1 and 2 are the rev limiter doing its job, which is normal on a car that's been driven. Ranges 3 and up mean the engine was spun past the limiter mechanically, usually by a missed downshift. We show the count and the engine hour of each range, and explain them in plain English.
How long does it take?
About 30 minutes. It's a plug-in scan, so we usually finish while you wait and email the branded PDF the same day.
Which Porsches can you scan?
Most 1997 and newer Porsches with PIWIS support, including 911 (996, 997, 991), Boxster and Cayman (986, 987, 981, 718), Cayenne, Macan and Panamera. Over-rev data is stored on most of these. If you're not sure about your car, call or text and we'll tell you.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. We work by appointment Monday through Saturday, 9 to 5. Call or text 941-444-0154 and we'll get you in quickly.
